Hats off ? Definitely On

Updated: Jan 18, 2020

My love for hats is a complex relationship..

When it comes to accessories hats are definitely one of the top 5 on my list along with earrings, necklaces, bracelets, scarves, belts, purses.... oops more than five I know. I'll admit I'm kind of a junkie in the accessory world. Honestly though a great hat, even a classic old hat can make all the difference if its used properly. I should know, I have a fairly large collection of different types of chapeaus and I can honestly say that as quickly as fashion changes hats are one of the accessories that just dont go out of style.

If you purchase classic styles of descent quality the need to purge them will never really exist. A timeless fedora, or panama style doesn't change dramatically. The investment is always a good one. When choosing your style take the time to really try on different types. I make it a point when travelling to find a great boutique( hat store) to spend some time in. I love this as part of my travel experience. There is some wonderful hat shops in all corners of the world. You'll know in a heartbeat what works for you, what feels right so to speak.

That being said, not everyone is a "Hat Person" I've heard this numerous times from friends throughout the years. Truth be told not everyone is. If your that person who can't wear hats I truly feel sorry for your loss. Hats aren't for everybody. However , it may be possible you just haven't found the perfect fit yet. A relationship between a hat and its owner should not be taken lightly....lol

If you choose to embrace the experience when travelling I encourage you to do so. Even if you buy nothing you can honestly say you tried. Here's your challenge, on your next vacay find a millinery shop, spend 30 min trying different styles. Have some laughs and appreciate the craftsmanship behind this great accessory. You may just find a style you love, if anything you'll definitely explore a side of yourself that makes you smile.

Popular "Hat Styles" that might be worth trying ...

Fedora, Trilby, Bowler, Cowboy, Pork Pie, Panama, Beret, Baseball

Please share your hat experience with me I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Cheers
